After all this time, the classic Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas are coming to Mac. Here's hoping for a definitive version incorporating the higher polygon models (actual fingers), specular lighting, real-time reflections, enhanced particle engine, better textures, and 5.1 surround audio from the XBox version, which would make this port superior to the existing Windows version.

Kinda weird such old games are being ported, but any good games being ported is good news in my opinion.

Well, think of the interest that HL2 generated on release, and it is from several years back.

Personally I think it is a good thing, but only if they release them on Steam. I certainly won't pay again ...

I don't think they'll put that much effort into redesigning all the textures for the game, just expect the textures from the PC version to be ported over. These textures were much better than the console versions anyways.

True, but Half Life 2 seems more popular, plus there hasn't been any sequels to it. And 3 and VC are pretty old games now.

good, now i can finally sell my xbox (original) the only game i really liked was
san andreas.

(come on big money... j/k)

Great catch, thanks for sharing! If the prices are reasonable, I may go and buy San Andreas, it's a legend

Forget those, I just want them to bring Red Dead Redemption to a computer. PC/Mac, I don't care. I just want to be able to play it with a keyboard and mouse.

Actually, because the XBox ports were done later than both the PS2 and PC versions they have better graphics than even the PC version. The PC version mainly added higher quality textures, longer draw distances, and higher resolution options. But the XBox versions included higher polygon models, enhanced lighting, enhanced reflections, enhanced particle system, etc. These were never ported back to the PC version, but this seems like the perfect opportunity to do so.
