GTX 260 Superclocked + 2009 Mac Pro - Updated

Hi guys,

I'm looking to install an EVGA GTX 260 Superclocked in my 2009 Mac Pro.
It does have 2 x 6 pins to power it so I shouldn't need to fiddle with any external PSU and the power consumption is apparently not too high to need one anyway.
My concern is more about the drivers and which one to install from NVIDIA before installing the card. Also, I don't need the boot sequence to show so no need to flash it.
I was wondering if anyone had some experience with the same card? I search through the forum but only to find some not too recent posts only.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

A little known fact is that Apple was developing GTX260 as an official Apple card. I have a couple here, complete with MDP ports.

So, they have been in the drivers for a VERY LONG TIME.

Does it mean I wouldn't need the NVIDIA driver and the OSX one would be enough? Or the NVIDIA one is actually more optimized? I run 10.9.5 btw.

Try it and see.

You can switch with a couple mouse clicks and a reboot.

For those interested, I installed my 260 Superclocked in my 4.1 Mac Pro. No-boot screen obviously. But it is recognized right away as you can see below. Don't think I need the nvidia drivers (unless I should?).
Not sure what all the info means in system report. If anyone knows, I'd love to understand these.
Will run try to run some benchmarks.
