GTX 570 Dual Mointor Problem

Hey guys,

I am running a GTX 570 2.5gb PC card that I purchased from MacVidCards on ebay. It is in an early 2009 Mac Pro with 10.8.2. I am thinking about buying a Wacom Cintiq tablet for work, these plug into you video card and run like an additional monitor, so I wanted to check and see if my card would support dual monitors. I unplugged my current Dell 30" from the DVI port it was using and plugged it into the second port on the card to check and I get no results. The screen stays black. Any ideas?

I have a 1.2GB GTX570 PC card in my Mac Pro 3,1 & it works fine with two monitors. The card itself is an MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr II GeForce GTX570 with t 2xDVI & 1xHDMI. It will drive two monitors with any two of the outputs i.e. 2xDVI or 1xDVI & 1xHDMI but not all three. I am using it with an HP LP3065 & HP LP2465.

Thanks for the info. Not sure why it would work on your set up and not on mine. Your specs are slightly different though and maybe that makes a difference. This might be a weird question, but can you run just one monitor from any port? I would assume you can, however I can not. I am wondering if this is perhaps a problem with the card I bought.

EFI cards have historically been 2 port only.

If you compare pix of PC Quadro 4800 and Quadro 4000 with the Mac ones you will note that the PC version has 3 ports, Mac one has 2.

When you buy an EFI card the ports it is set to work with are noted in the ad itself.

All GTX570 2.5 cards were initially DVI & DP as adapting from DP to DVI is simple and cheap (pass through under 1920x1200 for $10) whereas adapting from DVI to DP is expensive. ($200)

We have since added Dual DVI versions of many cards but this means that they can not be used with Apple LED displays afterward.

Thanks for the response MacVidCards I am not as technical as you but I think i got the jist of that. Am I correct in thinking that a DP to DVI adapter will work then? If not, can you recommend a card on your ebay store that I could use to replace this one?
