Well ive installed my evga GTX 680 in my mac pro and it works fine, no Efi screens, but it loads OSX ML no problem, now ive installed bootcamp windows 7 via my ati card because i get no display with GTX 680 win 7, even when i just boot via win 7 install dvd, in boot camp i can hear it load, windows loading noises but no display, this win 7 is first release so perhaps it dosnt support GTX 680 but i would have thought it would. I have to put my ati card back in to view win7 and see a screen.

So any ideas anyone, do i need a later win 7 to get GTX 680 to show screen, I thought maybe load Nvidia drivers, but it wont let me while my ati card is running, cant see to load them with GTX 680 installed.

Not sure what you mean by first release, but surely you have updated Win 7. If not, do that first (it will take a longggg time if you have never updated), then reboot. If that doesn't help, try booting into safe mode, then install driver.

I would boot into safe mode if i could see the screen, but i dont even get a loading screen when booting win 7 in boot camp or via DVD drive, the screen remains black, yet OSXML screen stays black then shows password screen and everything is ok

real strange no display via windows bootcamp or win installation DVD even though it is first release win 7 pro 64:confused:

It sounds like this isn't the case for your ATI card - why not update Windows 7, boot using your ATI card, download and install the latest NVIDIA drivers, and then try booting with your nVidia card? BTW, I wouldn't think Windows 7.1 would have Kepler drivers for the 680 - it's a totally new architecture, with the first instantiation, the 680, going on sale less than a month ago.

Iam updateing win 7 pro now, but the NV drivers wont install in win 7 while i have a ati card installed, cant put GTX-680 in to install nvidia drivers because i cant see the screen.

I would have thought win 7 would have a basic driver for the GTX 680 though, but iam updateing so hopefully it might boot after updates are installed.

Ok ive sorted it, and just so others know what it was.

EVGA GTX-680 Dual DVI, but DVI 1 and DVI D sub are different, one dvi connection works on MAC OSX ML only which is DVI 1

DVI SUB works on MAC OSX ML and windows! never thought it could be DVI connection as it worked on OSX. oh well I will try re planting my hair now as ive been pulling it out all day:D

also if you put a VGA adapter on DVI 1 connection it also works! gota like these GTX-680's lets hope apple dont kill them in future updates!
