GTX 770 quick question

Can i use PNY 4GB GTX 770 Video Card Enthusiast Edition in my mac pro 2009 with mac supplying power i already have 5770 and 550to planing to take 550 out and use that power cable on 770

Hey

The 770 will need a 8pin and 6pin cable's connected so you won't be able to run both straight from booster cables.

If you have 2 spare data drives, i suggest you get the following
2x Sata to Molex
1x Dual Molex to 6pin

and use that for the 5770

You will also need a 6pin to 8pin cable for the 770.
This is not a safe way for powering the card for Gaming, If its for compute reasons it will be fine.

No. A single 6-pin cable will provide up to 150W.

GTX 550 Ti: 116W (1x6-pin)
HD 5770: 108W (1x6-pin)

GTX 770: 230W (1x8-pin + 1x6-pin)

Another way to add up the power supplied:

PCIe slots each provide 75W
6-pin cable plug on motherboard is 75W
8-pin cable sources provide 150W

The first 6-pin could be said to be "150W" but only because 75W + 75W

Hope I am not being fussy.

Thanks for the help guys i forgot to mention i will be using external power supply so my mac can have breathing room since i have external hd raid and The Wave Control Panel connected runing resolve. I am not sure how much power they need to run and placing gtx 770 and 5770 and possibly 550ti when i clear some space by modification i thing external power is the best option and i really don't care about how my mac look as in modification i will make it nice my goal is more cuda for resolve.

1- So basically PNY 4GB GTX 770 Video Card Enthusiast Edition will work with external power

2- Enthusiast Edition is there a difference between non Enthusiast Edition

3- GTX Evga 670 4gb or PNY 770 any recommendations here. 3- GTX Evga 670 4gb or PNY 770 any recommendations here. They both are somewhat matched in cuda cores

The 770 has the exact same GPU as the 680 does. The improvements on the 770 are in vram speed and power usage. So, when you want to compare, think of a 670 vs a very fast 680.

Hi me again quick question I took my gtx 550 out now i have one 6pin free and one free data drive can i run my 770 just on this
