Hey,

I decided to go for a GTX 780 rather then a 680 now because I just get alot more bang for the buck. For only like 50€ more I would be stupid not to choose the 780.

I can live without the bootscreen for now, and only 2,5GT/s speeds in windows don't seem to be such a big deal neither.

I found a first revision (A1) Nvidia reference model, will this work fine with 10.8.5?

As far as I can tell it should, but I thought I'd ask you guys first, before wasting some money.

Also, is 280€ incl. shipping costs a ok deal or not so much?

Maybe one last question about powering the beast:

I'm planning on using a 2x6 pin to 1x 8 pin adapter and 2x SATA to 1x 6 pin to power the card. Now I read MVC doesn't really approve of those 2x6 pin -> 8 pin adapters. Are there any other solutions except for an external power supply?

My issue with the dual 6 into 8 is that the side that can be used by itself only connects 4 pins of the 6, causing more stress rather then less.

Yea, I already noticed that. But is there another intern solution other then this one?

Well, there are those mini 6 pin to 8 pin adapters, but I don't quite trust those...
