GTX 960 & HVEC hardware decoding on Mac

Is this only for Windows guys or not?
Will a GTX 960 do the hardware decoding of H.265/HVEC content when installed on a Mac Pro 5,1?

There's hardly any apps that do it yet on any platform. Even VLC's support is very little and very bad.

On Windows it works pretty well (there are more than a few pages about that if you google it)... I don't know on other platforms but at least Windows it does works. I was wondering if anyone has never tried it on Mac.
