Hello,

I wasn't sure if I should ask this here, or in the Mac Pro forums. I have a Mac Pro with a standard PC graphics card - NVIDIA GTX 980. Does this have out of the box support for that card, or do I need to wait for the NVIDIA drivers?

Thanks!

GTX980 is not officially supported in OSX (there are no drivers), however I have heard of people using the quadro mac drivers which work 90%. Obviously it will be supported in a windows bootcamp install.

No, the built-in OS X drivers still do not support Maxwell based video cards. If you wish to use a Maxwell based card, you MUST install and use the Nvidia web drivers.
