With the release of the GTX1060, it seems like a card that could work well for the Mac Pro's.

A single 6 pin power requirement, low TDP, no SLI (was never supported in OSX anyway).

I am thinking this could be the card/cards to go with.

Has anyone tried it? I know the driver support isn't there yet though.

Just got my zotac 1060 yesterday - I'm actually using it as a eGPU for my rMBP in windows. I haven't bench-marked it, but feels much more powerful than the 960 I was previously using. Fan is very quiet. Hopefully won't be terribly long before there are OSX drivers.

I think I will just get a used 970 locally for around $200 then. Would have been nice to have a card that only needs a single 6 pin power cable.
