I'm using a PC GTX 460 in my Mac Pro 1,1.

I used the ATY-Init method, but this is no longer necessary with the latest nVidia drivers.

Everything works perfectly, but not Apple boot screen.

macvidcards is also a very helpful member on this forum, so if you have questions, he might pop up and assist~ as ORTOX said, the only real issue is no apple boot screen.

Greetings,

If I decide to buy a Mac Pro regardless of its age (just because I want a Mac, and a Mac which is as modular as possible), would it be possible to take my nVidia GTX460 from my PC and plug into my Mac Pro, would it work ?

I heard almost all nVidia cards work with the Mac Pro, isn't it ?

Just keep the factory card and use a pc gtx460, it will work, if you need boot screen for some odd reason you can always pop the factory card back in.
