GTX680 and GTX1070 in same tower?

So I picked up a GTX1070 recently, and have been using it under Windows Bootcamp - very happy with the card.

Expecting Pascal drivers to arrive "soon"
In the meantime I'd like to be able to use OSX.

Currently, I'm rip and replacing the GTX1070 with a GT120 (as they will not co-exist in Windows) every time I want to use OSX.

I also have a GTX680 (EVGA 2GB, flashed) lying around.

Could I run the GTX680 (without PCI-E power cables) alongside the GTX1070?
I know the GTX1070 won't POST without the PCI-E power cables connected. Not sure about the EVGA GTX680....

Alternatively - any nice way to have the GTX1070 and GT120 work at the same time (under Windows)?

You'll need to have all pcie connectors connected on all cards for the computer to properly post, so that needs to be addressed first.

Highly doubt this support will come. Maxwell support never left the beta stage and still isn't official despite the driver builds going from 346 all the way up to 367.

For those playing at home....
Some PCIE power splitter arrived the other day.

The GTX680 and GTX1070 happily coexist in the Mac Pro under Windows 10.

Just check fan clearances - I had the 680 in slot 2 above the 1070 in slot 1, the card sagged a little against the 1070's fan and stopped it from spinning freely.

What power cables did you need and where did you get them from? Looking at a similar setup for my son (who currently runs windows 10 in a 4,1 with a GTX 970)

Just standard 6-pin PCI-E power splitters for a few dollars off ebay.

I currently am running a GTX 680 on a Mac Pro 5.1, I'm thinking about bootcamping to Windows 8 on my 2TB HDD.

How have you guys found bootcamping? I mean as in did you run into a lot of problems?
