Does anyone care to take a guess on what they think the 17" Macbook Pro will come in at? Considering that the 15" 2GHz is $2499 I am willing to bet that the 17" will come standard with a 2.16GHz Core Duo for $2999 and possibly offer an additional speed bump BTO option like the 15". However, I am not even sure there IS a Core Duo faster than 2.16.

The 17-inch PB is usually the same speed as the upper 15-inch PB. So expect the 17-inch MPB to be a 2.0. Also, expect the 17MBP to be about the same price was the 17PB was.

I agree, I do not see Apple really raising the price on the 17" unless they include the 2.1ghz chip in the 17"...then I could see the price to be around $2,699, which still isn't that bad. I know for sure I will be ordering one once they come out.

I'm not sure, but I don't believe there will be a faster core DUO chip until the MEROM comes in Q4. The Yonah maxes out at 2.16 GHz.

So, does this mean that a 17" macbook pro is coming out sometime in the future?
I plan on getting a mbp, but have held out hoping for a 17".
Just checking.

I thought the yonah chips maxed out at 2.33 ghz. None are in production right now, but they will be.
