From time to time, my 2014 MBA would have the guest enabled itself. The setting is locked, my login account is tied to iCloud.
I'm not sure what could cause this, since i'm the only user on this laptop. It did it this morning, I went back to sys pref and uncheck the guest account.

Did you turn on "Find My Mac" in iCloud?
If so, then there's your answer.
The Guest User account getting enabled is a feature of "Find My Mac" in case your computer gets stolen. The data on your computer won't be accessible, but the Guest User account can connect to wifi and open Safari, which will update your Mac's location in iCloud.
