I haven't tried a lot of pinball games on the iPad, but The Pinball HD is a pretty good one. It's nice for showing off the screen too.

I don't know, The Pinball HD (really stupid title, seriously?) looks really good, but I'm holding off because a lot of people are complaining about the fact that the camera tightly follows the ball wherever it goes, which makes it hard to play and potentially headache-inducing. Sounds like they either need to smooth out the camera follow or provide a zoomed-out view that doesn't move around. At that point I'll pick it up because it looks great otherwise.

Some people say that. It hasn't bothered me at all.

But regardless, the developers have stated that they are addressing that in the next update coming out soon to give users the option to keep a static, complete view of the table if desired.

I guess it might bug some people, but I haven't experienced any headaches nor found it hard to play due to the camera.

I have pinball HD and it is fun. I too would like to hear if there are any others out there that are good.

If you play in landscape mode, it's a static fullscreen view. The camera only follows the ball if you play in portrait mode. And not that many people are complaining about anything. Most of the reviews are 5 stars.

Also, they actually just changed the name to just "Pinball HD" in today's update.

Today's update changed the name to Pinball HD.

Thanks guys. Purchased and it would appear to be intensively tested right now. Looks like this is going to get expensive placating 'her' :D

Now that seems odd to me. Aren't most pinball tables vertically-oriented? And thus it would make more sense for the portrait mode to be static, if anything.

I hear ya. I thought that seemed a bit odd too at first, but it plays great though. I suggested in my review that they should add a static view for portrait mode as well, so I hope they do.

In any case, the new update made the game A LOT smoother. It's definitely worth every penny of 3 bucks.

On the iPhone pinball game "The Deep" and others by the same developer allows you to change the view by pinching or "expanding" like you do with pics. Anyone try that on Pinball HD?

I tried, but right now the only way to get a fullscreen view is by playing in landscape mode. I'm guessing they'll add fullscreen mode for portrait soon though because they've already updated the app twice and it's only been out for a few days.

Pinball HD just got another update today, it's definitely the best pinball for the iPad.

For someone that was not keen on the purchase of the iPad, my wife seems to be enjoying Pinball HD. Kind of shot myself in the foot as I'd kind of like to use it also.

Browsing the app store for other essentials.
