Let me start by saying..."sorry for the noob question." (A disclaimer I see often)
I have recently decided to start working with my InDesign CS3 in hopes of putting together a newsletter for a few local programs that I am currently involved in. I am rather familiar with Photoshop and I am getting a hang of InDesign.
My question is not so much a technical one, but more of an aesthetic one.
What books/magazines would you recommend to someone that is trying to learn layout and design 101. I know its kind of vague but for example, In photography there are some basic rules of perspective and layout (rule of thirds) that sort of thing. Any good sources to learn about basic rules of design?
