I was never able to JB/UL on 2.1 on Windows. QuickPwn just didn't ***** work. I was able to fall back to 2.0.2 and use WinPwn. That's what I'm running now. Please don't be so quick to judge someone if you don't know their exact circumstances. I'm in the exact same boat, running a 2.0 flavor and unsure as to how to upgrade to 2.1. The ONLY Windows compatible 2.1 JB/UL tool is QuickPwn, and it doesn't work on either of my systems. It does the jailbreak, but leaves me at the USB cord screen when I insert my t-mobile SIM.
Unlock box was checked, and I got the bootloaders, and for that matter all of the needed files from the links in the tutorials here at MacRumors in the stickied posts at the top of this forum. I tried and restored back to native 2.1 and tried again probably 5-6 times. All it would ever do was the jailbreak part. When I attempted to swap out the SIM, the USB cord message appeared on my phone screen.
The only thing that worked was to go back to 2.0.2 and use WinPwn 2.5. Unlocked and activated it the first time. I think I'll probably wait until WinPwn puts out a new version that UL/JBs firmware 2.1 to update my phone to 2.1. As of last weekend, they only supported 2.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2.
