Since guitar hero for 360 is out of stock in gamestop, where I have a 200 dollar gift certificate, I was thinking of getting guitar hero for my 24" iMac. Does anyone know if it's any good? Is a 24" screen good for that kind of game? Or, how do I hook it up to my tv?

Given that it's sold out for the Wii and the status of downloadable content and the mono audio issues for that platform, I'm tempted to check it out on the Mac as well.

But does anyone know anything about the controllers and gameplay?

I imagine the guitar controller is the exact same and gameplay as well... except you'll be playing at a much bigger resolution than any console out there.

wait a minute the mac version isnt out yet is it? if it is, where the hell can i find it?

Mac version is relased next week (supposedly, this is the 4th different release date so far). The PC version ships with the Xbox GH2 Xplorer guitar, not the same guitars that come with GH3. I play the PC version using BootCamp (didn't want to wait for the Mac version) and have a 2.4gzh C2D MBP with 4GB RAM and it runs no problem for me. Haven't tried hooking it up to the TV yet to see how that would work out. Best Buy and WalMart both had the Mac version for pre-order months ago, but now only show the PC version online. Amazon says it's already released, but ships in 1-2 months. I wonder if stores will replace the PC only version with the PC/Mac hybrid starting next week? If you have a console, it's probably better to get it for a console assuming you can find the game.

I have a 20" and I am thinking of getting it. I think the high-def displays will really make it look good, even if it is only 20". Though, my TV is only 27", and I don't have it with me at college, and I gave my PS2 away, so I am kinda low on options.:apple:

EDIT: If you don't know, the mac/pc controller is a wired usb guitar, not bluetooth. So if you want wireless, you better wait for a console version to come back in stock.

360 all the way, last thing I want to do is be standing around my desk smacking a plastic guitar.

Seriously, it's a pretty decent game. The boss battles are a neat touch and the difficulty level seems to be much smoother than prior versions.

Are the computer versions getting the DLC like the others?

I love the wireless controller with the Wii. I plan on getting GH3 for my Mac on the 10th. The game is a PC/Mac hybrid so I most likely will just go to a local game store. I am fairly sure that the Apple stores won't have them for a little while (except the online store)
