I'm about to buy AirPods 2 (not the case) at a steep discount from a third party. They claim it's AirPods 2, but how can I make sure? I know for a fact that AirPods 1 and AirPods 2 are 100% identical visually. Is there anything besides W1 and H1 chips differentiating them at all? A feature? An inscription? Anything?

Thanks

The second generation case has an LED indicator for charging on the front.

There is no way visually at all. You are taking a gamble and hoping for the best.

The one way I can think of is to pair them with a phone and test out “hey Siri”. With the first gen, you have to tap one of the buds. With the second gen AirPods you don’t need to do that. Just be sure to make sure “hey Siri” is enabled in the settings.

Dont give them money until you verify Hey Siri works. If it's version 2, when you first connect them to your iPhone it will ask you if you want to enable Hey Siri. If it doesn't, it isn't version 2.

Thank you, guys. That's exactly what I needed to know.
