Guys is this Mac Pro worth the money

Im new to this Mac Pro and wanted to ask you guys if it's worth the money, it's USD $1275. Please advice me if it's a good deal or not.

- Mac Pro 1,1
- 2 x 4 core Intel Xeon X5365
- 8 GB RAM
- 1 TB HDD
- Built in WIFI (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth
- ATI Radeon HD 5770
- Apple 12 x Superdrive (DVD Burner)
- Two eSATA external ports for Hi Speed connection of external Harddisks
- Internal PCI Slots allow further *expandability,
 
Seems like way too much for a 2006 (1,1) Mac Pro.

At that price or slightly more you could probably get a single processor quad-core 2009. I got my dual processor eight-core for not much more.

Watch ebay. If you want a 1,1 you can spend less. If you're willing to spend that much you can get a newer Mac Pro.
 
It's high. You could get a 2008 8 core mac pro or a 2009 quad for that much.

The ram is expensive for that model and the 2008 version, so 8GB does cost something for them. The eSATA card could have been expensive depending on what one, but if it's an older one it may not even work correctly under SL. Lion won't run it unless it has available Cocoa drivers. X5365 cpus are not the quads used in the 1,1. I don't recall what the 2,1 used.

These are 4 cores each meaning it would be an 8 core machine. It might have been upgraded. You'd probably see around 10k on geekbench, but the model still isn't officially supported on Mountain Lion and Intel's old front side bus isn't as great for parallel computing as the newer QPI.
 
I would suggest you look for a 2009+ model. They are quite literally the same as the newest model.

I picked one up a few months ago and love it. Upgraded it with an Apple 5870, OWC 240 GB Accelsior card, and am going to upgrade the CPU to a W3680 in a few months.
 
It also won't be able to run a modern OS in less than a month. You'll be stuck with last year's 10.7 as the newest possible version.
