Guy's just a quick question, please help!

Hey guys i know this will sound like a realli dumb question but please spend a lil time and give me the reply i need. I just got a 16gb iphone today and am ready to jailbreak and activate. i am relying on the following website tutorial to do this. http://www.hackthatphone.com/113/iphone_unlock_46bl_113.html

Firstly when i downloaded all the software that is required to do this and when i opened iNdependence it crashes. i do not have the iphone connected at this time. is that the reason? i am also running the latest version of itunes which is 7.6. could that be the reason for crashing?

Secondly and lastly i live in australia, so if i follow all the correct steps, there is no reason why it shouldnt work here right?

Lastly, am i right in thinking that my iphone will not need a turbosim/stealth and all the various other ones available out there?

I would really appreciate a reply from you folks so that i feel confident bout performing this unlock.

Not sure about the rest of the unlocking as I only did it once, and I downgraded to 1.1.1 to do mine, but I did do it in Australia and it worked fine. In fact, I did it in a Qantas lounge
