Hack/Mod: Home key on the Macbook Pro - how to make it behave like in Windows?

As a emigrant from Windows, I wish the Home key had the same function on the Mac as it does on the PC, which is to move the cursor to the beginning of a line. Also Ctrl-Home moves the cursor to the top of a page. Can any of you suggest a way of getting this functionality on the Mac side?

Another challenge: I am using Windows on my MBP through Boot Camp. The keys seem to me to behave as they do on a Mac -- any suggestions in how to get the function I am seeking?

At least in my case, in Boot Camp, fn + left arrow does indeed take the cursor to beginning of line. OS X, however, doesn't do this.

Why would you want anything to be like Windows? (this coming from a week old Mac user ). On a more serious note though, a lot of people have asked this question and there isn't a suitable answer yet .
