Hello to you all! I'm new to unlocking/activating the iphone and wondered if someone could help with some good advice?

I'm located in the U.K. and acquired an iphone from eBay.

The supplier supplied me with instructions and software to unlock/activate (INdependence) the phone. Which i followed and succeeded.

The firmware version on the iphone is 1.0.2.

I've read on many websites that there is a new firmware released (1.1.1.)

I also understand i can use INdependence (1.2.5) to update my phone to 1.1.1 and also use it to unlock/activate also?

Could any one please advise on steps to doing this?

And also what are the risks in doing this?

Thank you all,

Regards,

Paul

Since you have 1.0.2 Use this method.

I used it and got the phone unlocked in less than an hour. Smooth and unlock process was a breeze :)
