Hacked iPhone 3g is unable to be restored...

I have an iPhone 3g that has been jailbroken for about 6 months and then all of a sudden it stopped working. I tried to put it into safe mode to reboot it but was unable to complete the reboot. All it says is waiting for iPhone and the phone has the apple symbol and the status bar is full like it has completed its download. When i turn on the phone all I get is a cartoon of Steve Jobs, with a foreign language in the box above him. I have been trying to fix this problem for about a week but have gotten nowhere please help....

You know, I had the same exact problem. However, after like the 20th time of trying and trying to restored finally worked. Just keep on trying.

Step 1) Do a DFU restore.

Step 2) Done.
