I'm on 1.1.1
Anyone know which app this is from? I love my hacked iPhone, but I am on the verge of restoring and updating to 1.1.2

Help!

I'm on 1.1.2 and seem to have the most crashes with Summerboard. Apps just quit while running them and when I remove Summerboard things start working normally.

No doubt. People start hacking and adding things that aren't supposed to be on the iPhone and they wonder why it starts crashing and not working. It's amazing.

Agreed! I had 3rd party apps galore when I had iPhone OS 1.0.2, but when I upped to 1.1.1 I lost it all, and I frankly don't really miss it. My iPhone has been relatively stable since I went to 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 (other than some websites somehow stopping the iPod app from playing). I only need to reboot it once a week or so.

Bottom line, if you are having problems, restore and go 1.1.2. Yeah you'll lose all your custom stuff, but you'll gain stability.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

I've never attempted or desired to hack my iPhone and I never will!:apple:

Wierd ecause I have 4 screens of Apps and my iPhone is *very* stable. So far the only problem has been with Apollo chat that is slow when on EDGE and YouTe which is also slow on EDGE. Well aside from that, my iPhone is stable and has everything I want in it. Maybe you are doing something wrong.

Oh, by the way, I got an iPhone from unjailbroken/locked firmware version 1.0.0 and now have fully jailbroken/unlocked 1.1.2.

I had the same problem with dimming wallpaper on summerboard, but the latest summerboard update (3.0b1-1) in installer seems to have fixed the problem. Dim wallpaper doesn't seem to be causing any further crashes.

i just updated summerboard and it keeps crashing. I guess my next move will be to remove summerboard. Too bad... :(

A Clockwork Orange

It's called innovation...and as long as you keep using the products you are force fed you'll never know what that word means.

Its sad that people has loyalty to Apple.. when apple is doing something that is not towards our side.
They are forcing us to sign a 2-yr contract. Which I find to be pretty ridiculous.
I love apple's product. But I just hate the 2yr contract stuff.

And your iphone will be so much more fun and prettier after you install 3rd party apps :)

Back to the topic, I had this problem before. And I found out I turned dim wallpaper on.

If you had wallpaper dimming turned on in summerboard, turn it off.

is that what is doing it? I noticed summerboard itself wasnt crashing it, however if I turned it to default theme it didnt crash any more.. I will dim my bg in photoshop and upload it to my theme and turn off the dimming featre. Then re-evaluate the app.

Firstly It's all about choice. If you want to install third party applications without waiting for the bugs/problems to be sorted then that's the risk you take. I signed up to a 18 month contract and I'm now beginning to regret it.

I'm am a little concerned about having it hacked, but by the time I upgrade to a new iPhone hopefully there will be stable applications and services available.

I'm going to wait until the plan terminates and then get the Iphone 2, wait and have it hacked to go sim free.

My point being is 18 month plans suck. end of, especially when there's the same company doing these plans

And what annoys me even more is they really rub it in with comments like "No lengthy Contracts" just to piss people off who've signed up to a contract.

So in the trusty words of Master Yoda...."Patience young Jedi, Patience"

Come On!

you guys i have downloaded TONS OF APPS onto my iPhone and it is working perfectly fine! I love it! I dont know why you would stay with that crap when you can have awesome apps you can only dream of!

ZERO problems with Sim-unlocked iPhones with a number of apps installed.

If you are having problems (by being a download whor3), then you might need to uninstall everything. Then, install 1 app at a time, try it out for awhile, so you would know which app is not stable.

You have no right to be adding a reply in an "iPhone Hacks and Apps" forum.

I'm Disgusted at this response, and all of those like it. If you're going to sh** on iPhone's 3rd party support, find a new place to do so.

A lot of people have put A LOT of hard work and time into developing these apps and utilities, and I think its time to show a little respect.

This a a legit question, 1.1.1 sometimes gets itself into a state that it doesn't know how to get out of, this is after installing and uninstalling different apps, and just by modding the iPhone regularly.

Your best bet would be to follow one of the updated Jailbreaking guides on this site, and update to a jailbroken 1.1.2 firmware version.

All those commenting against hacking; you are victims of your own fear in adapting anything unconventional. I have had a stable iPhone from when the first hacks appeared. I have greatly increased functionality and an environment more conducive to my immediate needs (rearranging and omitting icons).

The OP simply didn't do his homework and cluttered his iPhone with unnecessary apps. A few of which have caused a conflict.
