Just now my iPad was going haywire. I was in the photos app and looking at a photo and something opened up another photo, zoomed in, and did this to several photos before I could reboot and turn off WIFI. I do not know if I have a hacker, or my iPad Mini screen needs to be repaired. Perhaps the next time this happens I can tune off WIFI and see if this fixes the problem, and if not I have a hacker. What do you say?

Shut your iPad off and restart it. This should solve most problems in an instant, I would give a hacker a 0 % probability.

What if it does it again?
If it happens again it’s most likely a hardware issue. Do to the age of the iPad mini, it’s not worth fixing...
Return it for repair, sounds like a faulty digitiser - imagine the digitiser sending noise to the processor, the processor will interpret some of that as valid but seemingly random touching of the screen...which may well give rise to exactly what you saw.
You have flawed logic if you think turning OFF WiFi means you have a hacker if the random screen activity continues, without WiFi how do you think a hacker is connecting to the iPad???
Is it a mini 4? Thought you meant 1st gen mini. If it’s less than a year old, it’s under warranty..

Before you do anything, call Apple. Maybe it's a known issue. Do you live near an Apple Store? There's a few possibilities of why an iPad reacts weirdly, I had a faulty GPU for example in an iPad Air back in the day. Reacted slowly, but only a few minutes per day. But well - let's hope your problem is gone for good
If you can get to an apple store, that is your best option. Use the apple store app and schedule a support appointment. They’ll have you fixed up in no time.
Either way, apple support is by far the best in consumer electronics. You’ll be taken care of.
They will try and duplicate the problem at the apple store but I bet a donut the iPad won't misbehave there.
Yeah I hear you. If you can’t easily produce it though, that is usually a sign of a software problem. If it were me, I would put my iPad in DFU mode, attach to iTunes, download and install a clean copy of iOS. Don’t forget to backup first
It is more likely that the digitizer is going than you were hacked.
I say, remove the plastic screen cover on your iPad and/or touch an antistatic mat. Your digitizer is picking up ghost touches. This is typically caused by static electricity ( during a very low humidity day ), but can be caused by a failing digitizer.
I can/have duplicated the issue.

Will wait to see if it does it again. Have an appointment with Apple this weekend. Will make sure to backup before I go.
