Hacking/modding Apple TV.

Hello,

I was thinking about buying a 40 GB Apple TV at Best Buy today, and I was wondering how hard it was to hack/mod it. Is there a software hack for it, or do you have to do a hardware hack? I would also appreciate any links to where I could learn about this.

You might want to watch out for this. It is the thing you need, but afaik it is not being sold (yet?).

The software hacks should not be that difficult, but I can't help you there.

I was really wanting to run Tiger on it. It seems that the only way to do that is by taking out the HDD and installing Tiger on it, then running some command prompts. If anyone knows how to do it with only a software hack, and using a PPC G4 Mac, please tell me!

Check the usual ATV forums and sites for it.
There is no need to remove the harddrive if you patch your aTV using a Patchstick.
