Have an 8gb 1st gen iphone. Was running 2.0.1 on T-Mobile, no problems. Far from being an expert on iphones, got this a month ago on ebay.

Everything worked great, loved it so much I wanted a 16gb one instead! Bought a 16gb unlocked/jailbroken iphone running 2.0.1 also on ebay and converted over. Life was good!!!

Decided to sell the 1st (8GB) 1st gen iphone. Buyer found and I was ready to delete my data & apps. Here's where I got into (BIG) trouble:
+ went to settings/general/reset and chose "Erase all content & settings.

Duuuuuuuuumb, I (now) know. Left me on the "Pineapple". Got the phone back to where it boots, shows the USB cable and wants to connect to iTunes and activate???

Is there a way (please, PLEASE) to get back to a clean, vanilla 2.0.1 install?

I "can" follow directions... I am using Windows XP ///

Don't worry your problems can be fixed easily, when you plug it into itunes just click restore in the iphone window in the device section and that should do it.

Sadly... the only option iTunes 7.7 gives me is "Welcome to your new iPhone, Let's Activate"???

Doesn't seem to be a restore option???

Thank you for replying, all is now good.

I had to use my wife's MAC and Pwnage to get back to an unlocked/jailbroken 2.0.1
