That's nothing, I got a "Keyboard not detected, press F1 to continue" on my PC at work once.
Unplug your keyboard, and then boot the PC. You will see the same error.

IMHO, that is a real funny situation. Press the F1 key, but a keyboard isn't even connected. :)

That happens every time you boot a windows box with a serial keyboard disconnected. Pressing F1 confirms that you have re-connected the keyboard.

Don't see why thats the butt of so many jokes, yeah, out of context it might be funny but its a sensible thing in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what happened. I moved the computer and forgot to plug the (USB) keyboard back in. I got that error during POST, didn't even make it into Windows.

It would be sensible if it said "Keyboard not detected, reconnect keyboard and press F1 to continue" ;)

Just like "Wheres the any key?" :D
That's one of my favorites as well.

Nothing like helping someone and telling to go ahead after a dialog pops up and says to press any key. And they dutifully survey the keyboard looking for the any key. Sometimes I've said, go ahead and press the Return key, and they reply but that's not the Any key, will that be okay? It is really hard not to bust out laughing at this point. :)
