I had the BenM profile on my phone when I updated the carrier settings, and I still have the internet tethering option from those settings. That profile is also showing up. Thought I would give everyone else a heads up to install the BenM profile before running the carrier settings to get both MMS and tethering :D

I installed the profile after updating my carrier settings and I am able to successfully teather and MMS.

Here's a few questions...

are you on 3.1?
when you plugged your phone and opened tethering, did itunes disable the button?
are you able to tether?
if I did the benm option and tethering isn't there, will this enable it?

Yes, I am on 3.1. Tethering worked. After you install the benm profile, it should show you the option to tether in your Network settings.
