OS X Half Life 2, MBP, trackpad control problem.

I am playing HL2 for the first time. I am playing on a MBP and have come across a control problem with the trackpad. I have reached Black Mesa East and the tutorial for using the anti gravity gun. Because I'm using the trackpad, I am finding it impossible to control this weapon.

For those who have played HL2 on a MBP, how did you configure the trackpad for the game, and/or how did you work around to control this weapon with the trackpad?

Use a mouse.
Pretty much **any** mouse will be several times better for playing Halflife, or any other FPS.

Mouse doesn't work too well on the duvet cover or sofa, unfortunately! Also just realised I no longer have a mouse, all got thrown away last summer in a big clear out!

I suspect a mouse will be the solution, but thought there must be someone else who has tried to play this on a MBP and would have come across a similar problem.

Dude just buy a mouse. The game was made for a mouse+keyboard. When the action starts to get heavy you'll NEED the mouse

It is very tough. I have the same game and find it nearly impossible to play with the Macbook Pro's trackpad.

I just play casually, usually lying in bed or sitting on the couch, so a very casual set-up! Recently I've also completed Bioshock 2, and CoD4 with no problems, not perfect, but easily enough. I arrived at this stage of HL2 with no real issues, but controlling this gravity gun is just impossible with the trackpad. Guess I'll have to start taking it more seriously!

As mentioned before, it's not a trackpad problem, the game is DESIGNED for a mouse.

By the way, I can use my MBP with a mouse on a couch easily with the right mouse pad.
