In the bottom right corner of my screen, I keep about 12 Stickies floating and stacked up/down on-screen where I can see them all (not stacked front/back where some would be hidden). Whenever the Stickies program closes (i.e. when my MacBook Air does a scheduled shut-down at night) and then opens again (each morning), half of the Stickies have stayed where I put them and half of them show up in the upper left corner of the screen.

A few times I have tried copying and pasting the text into new Stickies, but certain ones ALWAYS relocate themselves. How on earth can I fix this? It's driving me crazy to move and re-stack them every single morning.

Edited to add: Using OS X El Capitan

This hasn't happened to anyone else? Only my mind-of-their-own Stickies?

I do not arrange my Stickies by overlapping them so I have not encountered the problem you are having.

Here is an article I found with a google search. The "Arrange by" menu item might help.

Thanks for the article. "Arrange by location" is *almost* what I want. It pulls them all over in stacked formation in the upper left corner . . . exactly how I would want them to appear in the bottom right corner. And like I said, half of them will stay where I put them, just a few won't. I'm sure it's just a bug with my program, although I've seen other people write of the same issue on other forums, but no practical solutions for it yet.

This only happens to me when I restart. Is it the setting that causes apps to be arranged by something something their own space?

CRAZY UPDATE!! I figured out why it happens! If a Stickie is located on the screen lower than the bottom of my internet browser screen (i.e. in the same "latitude" as the dock), they relocate up to the left corner upon program opening. But if they are within the bounds of the functional internet screen, THEY STAY PUT. That's not as low as I'd like my lowest Stickies, but I overlap them just slightly top-to-bottom and it condenses them, and I moved them a bit further to the right, so they aren't showing on screen as much, and it will do.
