Half press focus camera button iPhone 16

Maybe I am being dumb but I can't work out how get focus work with half press on camera button? I thought it is included by now and when I half press nothing really happens or it brings up menu for zoom, exposure, etc. I have tried to Google but there seem no info how to do it or any video show how it suppose to look and how to do it either.

I have iPhone 16.

Are you talking about Focus and Exposure Lock? It needs to be turned on in settings.

Ah thanks so much!! I didn't realise it needed be switched on in settings. That what I was looking for and now just tested it and now I can see it working.
