For those who bought the Halide app...is it worth it? I have a 11 Pro Max...the stock app is fine..but wondering if Halide offers that much more for $35 USD

When it was $7 it was easy to recommend. $35 is more difficult, but it depends on what you are needing from a camera app. Are there specific features that are unique to Halide that you need? You may want to also look at Camera M.

I have Camera+ (legacy one)...is there anything I don’t have in this app vs Halide?

$35 is a lot for an app...that’s like a video game price

Halide and Camera M have a focus (pun intended) on manual and raw photos. If you’re just interested in a good point and shoot app, the native camera app probably will have you covered. IMO.

I own Halide and there is no way I'd pay $35 for it right now. But I didn't pay that. Like some others here, I paid less than two figures for this app years ago. As an early adopter, I probably grabbed it at the $2.99 price.

Halide provides a number of advanced features many of which are available cheaper/free via other apps. Unless you describe exactly which features you value, it is impossible to say whether or not Halide (at its current price) is worth paying for.

Same.

I paid maybe $7 I forgot.

Why did it go up so much ?

The same reason why it cost $8.99 and never went below $2.99 to begin with. Because at different price points you get different users (they've talked about it in their blog before).

Any reason you didn't get Camera+ 2? Halide is just a camera app, they do a deal with Darkroom where they have a button so you can open your pictures for editing in their app. But that's $20/yr (or $50 forever) now too.

I agree, Halide in Canada is 55$ !! I have Camera + 2 and it's just been updated to ProRaw. I don't remember how much I paid for it -long time ago-but for sure not more than 8/9$ CA ..Crazy price Halide

Right now, it has new version which should be new price version from USD 29.99 to USD 39.99 I say after Apple released ProRAW format, I don't understand the update should be free or not. This iOS app was reviewed by some famous website that the updates will be free. I don't know why it can jump from 29.99 to 39.99 after Apple ProRAW released. iOS update is free. iOS apps update is free or not??? Unbelievable!!!

I own both Halide, Camera+ 2 and ProCamera and honestly neither Halide and Camera+ 2 were worth the money. ProCamera puts them both to shame. So much that ProCamera today is my main camera app and the iOS camera app is tucked away in a folder and rarely use it. I’m on iPhone 12 Pro Max.

ProCamera: which one? ProCamera HD? Or the other one with in-app purchases?
If it's the second one, do you need to buy all the extras, monthly or yearly access included?

The one with in app purchases. I bought them all except the monthly/yearly ProCamera up subscription. For now the only feature of the subscription is some filters and private light box and RAW exposure bracketing

How do you control Speed of shot in ProCamer? Unless I have picked the wrong App!
This is one reason why I prefer ProCam 8 Where I can very easily alter independently AE/Speed/ISO/Focus/WB/
