Hello I have a 2.4 ghz aluminum Macbook running OS 10.5.6 and there is a problem with the graphics in the Halo demo. First off my radar appears as only a white box on the screen and also when I take damage from some of the enemies at the very start of the campaign, my screen flashes a solid white and remains so for quite a long time (each time I get hit)

The rest of the graphics are good and it runs good but how can these be fixed? Anyone else running a aluminum macbook that have the FULL game and don't have these problems (but did on the demo) ?

Thanks

Yea sorry theres no way to fix this - it happens as far as I know on all macs with nvidia cards. I have the macbook pro with the 8600m and it does the same. Halo only works if you have the full universal version, but the problem is that the game is discontinued. If you can buy a serial number somehow tho or find it on ebay you can still download the UB version.

Personally, the lack of the map thing in multiplayer isnt too bad, but yea the sp level is unplayable, and theres a performance hit because its using Rosetta.

Heres the UB, however you need a valid serial number that you own to download it.

Or you can do the torrent way because its discontinued, but thats sketchy.

Ok thanks for the information. This is pretty good news to hear the full works ok, and it probably runs a lot faster too, being the universal binary.

Thanks a lot!

PM me if you want to know how to get the full version.

For those of you interested there is a video floating around the internet (put together by a dude named "Deathmule") that compliles all the Halo cut-scenes into one movie file. It is excellent quality and actually tells the story pretty well (and its > 2 hrs long!)

FYI

Halo 3 Legendary edition (xbox 360) included a normal DVD that had all of the cut scenes from Halo 1 & 2 played out as a movie, along with a couple of other short special features.

There IS, in fact, a way to fix the white-screen problem. (As for the radar... who needs it?)

Drumroll please... Turn on your flashlight on!

(In case this solution is affected by graphics options, note that I'm using the highest possible settings.)
