Hi there, if any Halo Demo mods are out there, can you please tell me how to convert other maps like sidewinder into a bloodgulch map, so that when playing in the multiplayer, bloodgulch will look like sidewinder, any ideas?

well i dont know if there is that particular mod, but here is a link to get you headed in the right direction:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBQgfR1FVV0

in the site provided you can search around a bit and see if you can find it.

Macgamingmods never work, whenever you click the download link, it always says like thers no servers or something, pretty useless website, but thanks anyway

Yeah I thought this too at first, but you gotta do a little digging...

When you click the "Download this now!" or whatever it is, on the next site, scroll down a bit to the "Download Servers". Choose one of those, and then it will download.

The youtube video will give you what to do from there.

Ok, apart from getting the stuff from the site, can you please answer my question, do you know how to mod a map first of all? If so, is it possible to convert a map like sidewinder into the demo map bloodgulch, possibly getting all the hex numbers and stuff and actually putting it in to bloodgulch demo map?

I'm assuming you know the bloodgulch.map replacing part, but you can download a thing called Eschaton off that site. I'm still working on how to use it, but you can use it to make you own mod.

Here is the Eschaton .zip file. Unzip it, and follow the guide I attached. I hope you find it useful. :)

You guys really helped alot, thanks for the site too, I was looking for more maps :), this is for the Mac version right?

By the way, are you sure these modded maps are for the Halo Demo on Mac, not Halo Trial on Windows right, because most of them don't seem to be working to me, thanks anyway

Yes, this is the Mac Halo Demo, and most of the mods on macgamingmods.com are not really tried and tested as good as you would have hoped them to be.

Besides you can make your own mod with Eschaton. :)

Ok, hey do I have to do something to Eschaton before opening it, because it doesn't work.

Oh and by the way, you know the concept drawing of Blood Gulch, do you think you could erase that, and just copy a whole new map from the full version into blood gulch?

Yeah, when you open Eschaton, no window will show up. You need to go up into the tool bar and open up your bloodgulch.map from your Maps > Halo Demo Folder, and you can mod it from there.

Here and here are some basic Eschaton tutorials to get you started. You can surf around YouTube for more.

And I suppose copying something would have to be something to experiment with. I don't know where you would get that file (other than buying the full game off of eBay), but I would go for it.

Its possible to convert maps to demo. It will be like applying any other mod in the term that it will be named "bloodgulch.map". It also works with converting the Halo CE maps to demo. A program named Queen Anne's Revenge was released on the Macgamingmods forums not to long ago were I am an active member in the Halo Demo section. The application is hosted on rapidshare so you shouldn't run into any errors when trying to download. The only real requirements to convert the maps are that you have Halo Full, Halo Demo and a map to convert. Also there's a application that convert Halo CE maps to run on Halo Full. Called Harbinger which is also hosted on filefront.

I hope i have helped you out in your quest to convert sidewinder to demo. Also may i add you may have a few BSP errors with sidewinder cause maps with larger BSP's then bloodgulch's tend to grow holes.

The BSP if you didn't know is the map itself. Not the trees and thing the actual bases and caves and other things of that nature. You can view it in the Scenario Viewer in Eschaton.

Well hope I helped and look forward to some of your mods.

Alright I'm pretty noob to this modding stuff and I downloaded eschaton 0.7.1 and I have no clue how to use it I open it and it has a maps folder on the side and and a read/write maps folder and a extracted tags folder but they are all empty and I have no clue what to do because there is no new or anything please help! (Do I have to put the eschaton folder in the halo demo folder?) Never mind I found out how to open maps but now I have no clue hoe to do anything with it any tips would help

Well I haven't heard of periods unless you are mocking me for not using periods in sentences. an I'm glad to see I'm not the only noob when it comes to halo demo mods :)

When ever I change the online map with eschaton only I can see the changes not anyone else who enters am I doing it wrong. Sorry I can't watch video tutorials because I have dial up internet
