Halo Effect

Ha Ha. I know the feeling. Being part of the Halo effect is a expensive process, though I do feel very satisfied with what I have got for my money.
Since buying a 3rd gen iPod a few years ago I have bought:
15" PB
Apple BT mouse
Tiger
iLap to go with my PB
Etymotic earphones to go with my iPod
Crumpler School Hymn for my PB
....there is more but can't think of them off the top of my head.
I will probably buy Apple care soon too and Im looking at an external HD to backup my PB. Going to cost me another couple of hundred dollars.
I doubt I would have bought all this stuff if I bought a Windows-based machine. Once you have a nice machine like a PB you don't mind spending money on it. You appreciate it like you appreciate a fine wine or your girlfriend

Here's a case of the halo effect gone crazy! I wanted an invisibleSHIELD for my 40GB iPod Photo I found a company selling them on eBay.com.au but only for the iPod nano and the new iPod with video. So I purchased a 60GB iPod with video to match the invisibleSHIELD.
I'm glad I did though the new iPods are amazing!

lol! That is crazy! You buy an iPod to go with the case! All this time I've been doing it the wrong way round!

It would appear to go both ways- such a vicious cycle.
I started out with a Rev B iMac, fell madly in love, then went for a PB so that I could continue to have OS X with me wherever I go (gotta love mobility!), then one day decided to start playing around in iTunes.... Yep, next thing you know I was buying an iPod. So for me the "halo effect" was in reverse from the usual where people start out with an iPod and then decide to check out the rest of Apple's goodies.
And, oh, yes, when I started accessorizing yeah, Apple and a lot of other vendors have been very happy that I discovered the Mac and Apple products!

Yeah I don't want to even start about getting assecories for my iBook. I already want a bluetooth keyboard ,mighty mouse, external harddrive and video iPod to go along with it.
Its like a good bike, yea sure the bike is semi-expensive but when you start upgrading there isn't much of a higher level so it costs huge amounts of money. (just take a look at the shimano dura-ace.)
