Mac Mini M1: 32 min 46 sec

What quality settings are you using for the M1 hardware encoding?

I found them backwards on my M1. For example, CQ 16 is a pretty high setting for software or even AMD/NVenc hardware encoders (on Windows). But on my M1 it’s trash. I have to go up to CQ 70+ to get similar quality. Normally the lower the setting number the better the quality...

That RAM difference must be a significant factor. How much difference would there be if the Intel Mini had 16GB, or more?

There would be no difference at all

I used 5500 kbps mkv with DTS passthru on all tests
