Handbrake crashing

Hey guys,
Has anybody had the problem of Handbrake crashing on them with .avi files or .mkv files? Mine is the latest version and crashes every single time. It does it on Apple TV preset and PS3 preset. Any suggestions or maybe one for a new converter for those file types?

This has happened w/ some mkv's in HB for a long time.

When HB fails, Visualhub has inevitably worked.

Of course, VH is no longer supported or in development...

check that there isn't a secondary source of audio when converting avis. if there is, deselect it.

that should do the trick.

i ran into the same issue countless times until I read about that one

Agreed, I had this problem converting mkv files, but the SVN snapshot does not crash like the current release version.
