Just ran across a "hint" for doing forced subs using Handbrake. This is for those who do not want to add a forced subtitle track later using something like Subler, iFlicks, etc and are satisfied to have the forced subtitles burned into the video so that you do not have to turn them "on" in the aTV subtitle menu.

On the subtitle tab in Handbrake, for Track, select Foreign Audio Search. When you select it, Forced Only and Burned In will be checked.

If forced subtitles are detected, they will be burned in (no turning on in aTV menu). If there are no forced subtitles, nothing occurs. I just tried this with "Salt" and it worked perfectly.

I have to be honest with you. I had read that...I have actually read a lot of the wiki. It's just that sometimes the light bulb does not go on, or I note it and then forget because I am not doing it right away, or I just don't get it. :D

Heh, np. Most don't read it. Most of that is accurate but it is 17 months old. There is some wiki stuff needs updating but the subs stuff is pretty accurate.

HB does not detect PGS sub streams that are in blu-ray rips. The built in subtitle functionality you reference only works for DVD VOB subs.
