Handbrake problem

I tried ripping my LOTR: Return of the King DVD, and for some reason, the movie starts right before the scene with the giant spider. Its the extended edition DVD.. Should I try the regular edition, because that worked for the other two movies.

I was able to encode the EE of all three films using Handbrake with no problems.

It sounds as if it might be a glitch on the DVD to me. Why not use Mac the Ripper (another freeware app) to first to rip the files from the DVD and then later run the files through Handbrake? Some users do this as a matter of course and this differing approach might help to get around whatever has been stymieing you. It can’t hurt and might help.
