I’m not certain but i think it is suggestion for an app you commonly use at that particular time of day.
Similar to the headphone symbol on your suggested music app (Apple Music / Spotify etc) when you plug in headphones.

Exactly. And there’s a third category for apps you use at a particular location, too. That one has the location arrow as an icon.

I have that as well.

Mine is for jump Remote Desktop, so it’s definitely not a schedule thing. If it’s a suggestion, how do I turn it off? It never goes away....I have the setting ‘show suggested and recent apps’ off in the dock but still it persists....

So far I had to add it to the dock to stop it...anyone else got a suggestion?

It’s only that app as well never seen it for anything else

Like if it stayed in the dock I’d be less annoyed but it doesn’t, everytime the dock appears it shifts everything to the left to add this app with an alarm clock icon. It’s ridiculously frustrating.

This has been annoying the crap out of me since I updated. Outlook shows up ALL THE TIME with the little alarm clock on it, and it will not go away. I have suggested and recent apps turned off.

Yep that's what happened to me. Have you tried putting Outlook into the dock? That got rid of it for me. In fact, I left the app in the dock for a couple of days, have since taken it off and it now doesn't do it. I'm afraid to open the app again though in case it starts again
