So how is this supposed to work? If I start a iMessage on my phone, it should pop up on my mac correct? then vise versa? The icon actually pops up on mac fine and vise versa on my phone but when I click on it, the message that I was writing on my phone, does not appear on my computer. Is that how it's supposed to work? If it's not, then what's the point of having continuity in messages, if when I go back to my mac I have rewrite the whole message again? Maybe I'm missing something and it's just not working right for me? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Have you updated your phone to 8.1? Mine behaved like that under 8.0.2 but it seems to work properly now under 8.1

Edit: Actually, it's still not working like you might expect - before it would just open the messages app: It now opens the right conversation but any text already typed isn't carried over (as you say). Must be by design I guess?

Yup updated and it's still doing the same thing....so on yours if you start a message on your phone, you can pick up back up on your mac? you don't have to write the message all over again?

Haven't updated yet but was having the same issue on 8.0.2. If it's really meant to be that way then it's pretty pointless because you may as well just finish the message on the device you started with.

Anyone know if it's the same for email?

should appear on your Mac a code to pair the iPhone...

On my MBA the code does not appear

EDIT:
obviously you have to be on the same network and have the same apple ID on both Mac and iPhone

Yup did all of that, turned on forward text, it gave me the code, I'm on the same wifi network and also on the same ID and still the message won't come to my laptop. The handoff icon appears at the bottom of my mac recognizing that I'm writing a message but when I click it, there's no message.
