handoff not working iPhone 6 plus and 2014 rMBP

Hi,

I have an iPhone 6 plus and a 2014 rMBP with bluetooth on in both the devices and they are connected to the same wifi network. I also have handoff enabled on both devices.

Can anyone help please?

sign out of iCloud on both devices, then sign back in on both devices.

I see an icon on the lock screen on my iPhone.. Is that the only way to access it?

How do I access handoff on my MBP?

Please help.. I don't see the handoff icon on my macbook pro. Handoff is enabled in preferences and bluetooth is on. I tried signing in and out of iCloud and restarting.

I'm having this problem too with iPhone 5s and 2014 rMBP.
Hope someone can help us shine some light on this situation.
