Hi,

Late 2012 iMac running Yosemite; iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini retina, both running iOS 8.1 .
Bluetooth on on all devices, same wifi network, same Apple ID.

Handoff works from the iOS devices to the Mac. So e.g. when I open Safari on my iPad, the icon shows up on the doc of the iMac.
But the other way around does not work. When I open Safari or any handoff-capable app on the Mac, I don't get its icon on the lock screen of my iOS devices.
Anyone else seeing this?

My problem was the opposite
But the fix for me was to log out of iCloud completely on the Mac and log back in

Make sure you have all devices with the right settings for handoff
Sign out of iCloud and sign back in on all devices including the Mac
Restart all devices

Good luck, it was driving me crazy till I got it fixed

Yeah I had a similiar problem, but like above, mine was opposite.

The only fix was completely logging out of iCloud on all devices as suggested and restarting the process of logging in one by one on each device.

Ugh, what a pain in the backside. :)
BUT: worth it! Everything seems to work as it should now.
So thank you! :)

Yeah, I had the same thing initially. Some combination of logging out/back into iCloud, disabling/enabling handoff, and possibly restarting the Mac & iPhone eventually got it to work. Additionally, it seems to occasionally stop working, requiring more resets.

Still no luck for my wife between her iPhone and iPad. Both use the same iCloud accounts, all the correct settings; SMS and phone call forwarding seem to work just fine, but no handoff. Handoff did work between her iPhone and the Mac - at least intermittently. Not a big deal so far since there's so little you can do with the feature, and it just doesn't seem all that useful.

Kind of ridiculous that all of this stuff is necessary for so many people - doesn't Apple test this stuff?:rolleyes: I shudder to think of all the non-tech-savvy people trying to use these advertised features and just getting stuck.

I wish everyone would try this, for any iCloud issues, before getting on a forum.

Seems like most people don't even know how to give their iOS device a power-cycle, they get advice now to do a "hard-restart".

A power-cycle is common sense, just like restarting a computer when it's got something new on it and not working, or having issues. Smart phones ARE computers, but, people think they should work without any issues whatsoever, but, it just doesn't work that way, smart phones are a developing product.

These things takes virtually a few minutes, "oh. my. gawd. what a hassle!" But, saves hours of trying to get it to work otherwise. ...5 years ago, 5 minutes would have been fast.

Had the same issue with my girlfriend idevices. It turned out that i needed to make sure keychain was on for it to work
