Hi,

The Handoff feature of Yosemite works very will with my Mac, iPhone and iPad. The only issue I'm having is that when I make a phone call over my iMac the other person can't hear me. I can, however, hear him. When I do the same thing over my Macbook Retina it is working fine. So it seems that only my iMac has this kind of issue that the other person can't hear me.

Does anybody have a solution to this?

Weird - there aren't any FaceTime-specific audio settings as far as I am aware....

Do normal FaceTime calls work or is the issue only with the handling of cellular calls?

Sorry I was wrong: I've just tested Facetime again over the Mac and the microphone didn't work, so the caller couldn't hear me. It used to work before. So it is the same issue as with handoff. In Skype the microphone is working flawlessly.

I've just solved the issue with the microphone not working with Facetime on the Mac. While being in Facetime, I have to select Video in the menubar and then check "internal microphone". Before, an external microphone was selected.

If I'm using handoff, however, the microphone is still not working. Since handoff is audio only this "video" setting in the Facetime app doesn't seem to apply to this. Is there any other microphone setting for audio-only calls?

Doesn't seem to be, have you tried restarting FaceTime now the internal mic is selected for video - it may just start using the same mic, that is what FaceTime Help hints at....

yes I've already tried this but instead FaceTime switches back to the external microphone and I have to re-select the internal microphone. If I could somehow prevent Facetime from switching back to the external microphone after a restart, I think it would also work with handoff. The only problem is that I don't know how...

Having the same problem. Mac Pro 2010 trying to use the mic on an external USB cam. under both FaceTime and system Sound settings, the correct input is selected, but the other person still can't hear me on handoff-related voice calls.

I'm not sure about your setup, but I had to install a new bluetooth card to get this to work with my machine. It could be that handoff isn't meant to be used with mics other than the default internal one (yet) and since towers don't have mics they're hearing nothing.
