hanging mac

my imac 24" 2.4ghz hangs a lot on 'sleep' mode and i have to resrart it quite often. any ideas?

i'm fairly new to mace but have done the premissions things. i'm running an extra monitor and using both safari and firefox.

any feedback appreciated. (last min thought, have 4 gig of ram installed)

i would try going into system prefrences and then under i think energy saver you can set the times as you wish
