I usually never post reviews of anything, but I need to make an exception here, because I simply adore these Toast leather skins, and I feel the guys at Toast need some recognition, since often the bigger manufacturers rule the discussions here. dBrand here, dBrand there, and so forth. Toast designs and manufactures these leather skins in Portland, US, which I appreciate. They also have wooden skins. And not only do they offer these for MacBooks, but also for a wide array of other products. Their customer service is beyond good, extremely friendly, and they offer a "Butterfinger" policy where, if you majorly screw up installing the skin, you can get a replacement for free (you pay only shipping fee). Which is great because the installation can be challenging and take some time, but not impossible by any means. I was actually there when a friend installed a dBrand skin on their MacBook Pro, and it looked more difficult than my experience with installing the Toastmade skin, because the dBrand skin was much thinner and kind of trickier to maneuver. Your mileage may vary here and I appreciate people have various experiences.
Toast skins are obviously costly; on the Toastmade.com website you can calculate the cost for each skin and its customization. They even offer completely customized designs, along with numerous color choices. I know when the Verge reviewed one of the Toast leather skins, they had the Verge logo added to it. And you can also select if you want the Apple or Toast logo displayed or not, etc. If you want the palm rest area protected, no problem, there's an option for that (I didn't opt for it).
I feel you get what you pay for here. The feeling of the leather is so nice compared to the cold and lifeless aluminum. And it provides much more grip as well. It does add some weight and thickness of course to an already somewhat thick machine, but I've not minded that once, the positives are far greater.
I had one for my Late 2019 MacBook Pro 16", and now I have another one for M2 Max MacBook Pro 16". I'm considering getting an iPad at some point, and if I do, I'll very likely get a Toast skin for it as well.
How long does it last, you ask? The skin on the Late 2019 machine stayed completely intact for over two years, at which point the corners of the bottom skin started slightly peeling off. The great thing about these skins is also that should you need to, while they stick very sturdily to the machine, you can get them off without any awful residue, at least in my experience.
But yeah, I know there are a few other people here on the forums who have used Toast leather skins, so I'd like to hear from you too. Chip in with your experiences and photos!
This was for the Late 2019 (I also had a bottom skin but got no picture of that anymore):

And this for the M2 Max:
