Not sure if this existed in the prior ios version but I noticed that in the news app, for instance, I receive one small haptic tap whenever I try to select text. I don't know what the function of this feature might be, but I also realized that the news app doesn't support force touch text selection.

These haptic feedbacks will only be available to you on the iPhone 6s & 6s Plus - so they couldn't be in previous versions of iOS.
