Looking at the dismantling pics linked on this forum it looks a right bugger of a job getting inside the iMac to change the hard drive.

And I bought this cos of it's one-ness, I don't want cables and drive boxes everywhere...

I slipped up there! Should have got a bigger one with it!

Yeah it's a shame. The upgrade from 320GB to 500GB cost me as much as a 500GB drive costs alone, and that's for 180GB. But I thought that with those extra gigabytes I could store all my DVDs on it with decent quality.

I've got two external drives for backups and things I rarely need. I don't want them running all the time since they are quite loud. But at least it's an option if you are running out of space.
 
I thought the same. I never want to crack that thing open.

Also, the 320GB is the WD Caviar SE. I'm betting the 500GB and the 750GB are the WD Caviar 16SE, which should be a little better fir speed as well as size.

I guess I'll find out soon. My 24" w/750GB just shipped!
