can anyone recommend a good hard drive backup utilty which can backup an entire MacOS X drive to file and later on restore the same image back to hard drive. Similiar to what ghost can do for NTFS/FAT/FAT32...etc. Thanks.

Take a look at SuperDuper. It can do what you want, and I can vouch that it works. CarbonCopyCloner is another one that's recommended, but I haven't used it personally.

Backup Utility

Hi,
I will second SuperDuper. I have also used CCC, shich is free. However, the flexibility of Superduper makes it well worth the fee.

I have a question. Can you save the file onto the same drive which you are mirroring ?
